Journal#13-Thanksgiving with my friend.

I met friends who studied with me in summer semester.One of our teacher, Richard, invited us.We were so happy to know to be healthy and enjoyed Dim Sum.Dim sum were delicious. The chinese restaurant was in Garden Glove. It was too huge. Dim sum were various and good. Teacher, Richard, called our meeting "reunion". He is also my conversation tuitor in this semester. He is always kind and good advisor to us. All my Vetnamese friends are working for tuition. They spend too much time to earn money for schooling expenses. I am worried over that. I wish they could not exhaust health and time on earning education exepenses. I hope that we will meet again together in Christmas.

Meeting on the border line-Journal#12

This year has really significant meaning for me.That is I set on my new journey in my life.I started English studying and became a computer user.(haha!).Moreover, I met many people in ALP programs.I am very thankful all of these things.I am not still familiar with many things and people.In spite of that, I realized that there are many meaningful border lines in our life.This is the very best thing that I appriciate.

I went a trip to Mexico at the end of last year. One of the interesting thing was to cross the border between America and Mexico.There were many cars standing in line to cross the border. At that time, I thought about the border line.An idea about border line flashed upon me.Ah ha! Human must cross a border line to meet people and to do something. However, nowadays, some different idea about border line crosses my mind. Ah ha! Human must meet with each other on the border line.The border could be the line between country to country, culture to culture, person to person, and languag to language.The line also could be the boundary of differences.Moreover, the border between person and person often could be troublesome.Because of the differences, we should explain what the differences between you and I are and the reason why I differ from you in opinion.It makes me troublesome. Sometimes, I wish that human could communicate without differences and languages.It is often uncomfortable for us to confirm the differences with each other.However, this is a world of contradictions. We must meet people on the border line to take off the border.I am on the border to meet world.That's the best thing that I thank in this year.

Journal #11-Baridegi story-Korean shaman folk tale

Princess Baridegi was born the seventh daughter in a royal family. the father wanted to have a son, and Baridegi was abandoned by their parent. Baridegi was raised by someone who found her. At her age 15 years, her parent got to ill. In her father's dream, he was told that one of his daughters should save them with life-giving water, which was found beyond the real life world.However, none of his six daughters wanted to go there because the journey to look for revital-life water was too dangerous and rugged. Therefore, a subject of the king found Baridegi,and she decided to go on long and tough journey. After many vicissitudes of journey, she arrived the world of death. However, the man who had the water required marriage to him, and she had no choice but to marry. After eventful life, she became a mother of seven sons, and she returned with the water and her family. She recovered her parent. The king, her father, suggested giving the half of the kingdom to her, but she rejected. After all, she became a goddess who bring the dead to the world after death.

Baridegi story is one of the Korean shaman folk tale. As we know, myth is a permanent original model of nation.So, we can see the behavior pattern of races through the national myth.While I was researching this shaman story, sometimes,I was really upset and sometimes I was dubious about my home country's national characteristics. After all, " After process of the sacrifice-ritual,the scapegoat becomes shaman Goddess."????-I was really angry about this point. Of course, all of heroine/hero story has the same structure of sufferings and overcoming. In addition, her story has also provided in feminism studies.According to Kim youngmin's thesis, "Baridegi discovered afresh herself as a result of the experience of hard trials and suffering and at last got the perfection of self". AS for me, it makes me angry,too.Can't she get the perfection of self without suffering and trials? In these days, I identify with her, and sing a song and dance with her. It makes me happy.

Journal#10- "I voted"

Obama takes the victory in President election.I am pleased with his victory because I set my affection on him. His victory has many significant and historical worldwild meaning.He is the fist colored President in the United States. That meams also the most affective colored person turns up in the world.Therefore, it is important to look in his thinking about international probrems.I watched with deep concern his policy toward North Korea, economics and Irag war.

First, what is his policy toward North Korea?He insists on conversational policy toward North Korea and leading North Korea's opening.Moreover,he said,with making each other understood by convwrsation,he will pull the North Korea out of the international isolation.(Korea times,and Ohmynews). However,I think about America's deep-rooted idea toward North Korea.Does America really want the North Korea's opening?The United States has supposed the North Korea to be the enemy.The weapon industry's thinking has been latent under that thought.Weapon industry always needs enemy for their interests. Futhermore, the weapon industry's money has been strong suporter every each President Election. If so, does Obama really keep away their pressure and robby about his policy toward the North Korea? I really worry his political standpoint.

Economic issue is also a matter of primary concern. Overcoming the present recession is international greatest concern.I have no expert knowledge about economics. I don't know a technical terms in economics. However,I get to be comprehend due to articles and journals that the present international economic crisis results from America's financial slackened discipline.But,now, the more important issue is not a cause but a way out. My naive opinion about economics is that Korean money value should't decrease until I finish my studing in the United States. For that reason, I hope that Obama has deep comprehension with world stream of money and strong will against financial groups looking after only their own interests. Is it too ideal?

In the ends,according to Daily Titan," Obama will work with his millitary commanders responsidly end the war in Iraq.Furthermore, he refocuses America's resorces on al Qaeda in Afghanistan and finish the fight with the terrorists who attacked on 9/11".Iraq war issue is also a sensitive pending question for Korean.South Korea has cooperated with the United States in Iraq war.A decision of cooperation was the political determination at the risk of internal resistance.To make matters worse,All Korean people have experienced certain missionary's pitiable death in Iraq.His strangulation by a gang of terrorists was telecasted on Internet.They required that Korean government should pull the troops out of Iraq.I don't want to even remember this tragedy.So,I really really hope that Obama's will to discontinue the war becomes a reality.

Finally, of course," Obama is the president of the United States, not Korea,not Europe. Therefore he will pursue American's interests".In spite of the obvious fact, I hope that he will become to be not only a" black Kenedy " in White House but also a American Gandhi in the world.Moreover, I want to say to him here is some small being to love you and give my vote to you even though you are "mutt". Mr.President! Go get'em tiger!

Journal#9-That's why I observe presidential election

In these days, I stare at America Presidential election. It's because I am interested in not only politics but also my money.Recently, Korea economy faces a big crisis.Stock market get a shock and exchange rate increase rapidly.The crisis comes from American finantial panic.Korea finantial policy has no choice but to fix its eye on the stream of American money.These big issues affect my small living in the U.S.A. During several weeks, I was on pins and needles. Every morning, I had to check exchange rate. According to rapid increasing of exchange rate, many people in Korea wanted to exchange won into dollar.Because too many people were connecting on internet bank at a time,my korean bank's internet accessing droped down. Therefore, I couldn't access for several days.Hoola! What the hell...! What's going on...! I was distract.I couldn't predict to fall into an ambush in the name of exchange rate ascent.
Nowadays, most of American circumstances, such as economics,politics, pop music,and even fashion trend directly affect all over the world.Therefore,hopefully I expect America has to have a strong sense of responsibility as the biggest and strongest country in the world.The president of America has considerable influence upon the world. Both of President candidate mention about America's power and strong America.In addition, both of them promise the rose- colored future.I guess that most of American want to believe them. I also expect their future-oriented manner as many American do.In the end, people in the world fix their eye on the United State President election.I am the one of them.

Millyang -journal#7

Milyang is the best impressive movie that I saw most recently.The director of this movie ask the meaning of a relief. The story begins like this.There was a woman who lost her husband by car accident. She came the place where her husband was born, the name of Milyang.She started new life with her only son in Milyang.Milyang was the place where nobody knew her past misery. She posed as a rich and put on airs. As the result of that, her son was kidnapped and kidnapper demaned a ransom. However, her son was killed and kidnaper was arrested.
This movie really started at this point of time. She began to go church in order to relieve the pain, and the pain gone away. Her belief was getting strong. For this reason, she decided to forgive the kidnapper served his term.She went to jail to meet him. However, the Grace of the God didn't take down only her. He told her that he was peaceful because of reliefe from the God.She was becoming insane since then.She raved with anger.She couldn't parden the God who forgave him earlier than her. Finally, she was treated in mental hospital, after time passed,and came back home where no body was.At the ending scene, sunshine shined on a puddle in her small house yard. Similarly, sunshine casted a shadow on yard. Milyang means secret sunshine.
This movie says not only the relief of the God but also human's pain that can not
share with others.Probably,that might be the destiny of human which can not sealed with one's will.I have been Milyang once.At that time, I didn't know Milyang has meaning of secret sunshines. In these days, I want to go Milyang.Probably, I miss sunshine so much.

Journal #8

Before I was aware of it, a half of semester was gone. At the beginning of fall semester, I didn't know how to organize my essay. In addition, when I wrote my essay, I had hard time to find an apt word.Futhermore, I felt hardened way of thinking in my native language. So,cares weighed heavily upon me.I was impatient. I forgot everything in my hurry. Everything was matted in my hurry. However, while I follow the way to write in English, my writing is getting better little by little.

In these days, while I was walking on campus, while I was washing the dishes, I try to think in English. However, it is too hard. I was distressed.I realized that it is always tough thing to hatch an egg. But I made up my mind to try to enjoy everything even distress and sorrow.

Recently, the problems with which I am confronted make the outline more detail. As my teacher told me, my out line is vague.I am trying to think more detail.I try to think in English.some day, I will find myself to improve in English. I am ready to climb a mountain of English..
